I started Bokit on one honest truth: booking in healthcare is broken.
My own frustration came from never knowing if I'd made the right treatment choice. Before I felt sure, I had to read through a clinic's whole website just to check. It felt like the wrong way round.
And that is why patients abandon their booking on your website today. They can't find the answer to the problem they came to solve.
Forms ask questions patients can't answer
A booking form leads with its hardest question: which treatment? Then a calendar. Then a practitioner list. Each step assumes the patient already knows the answer. Sure, for routine visits, many do.
But patients who represent new revenue rarely arrive knowing what to book. They arrive with a problem: a tooth that aches at night, hanging skin they want to do something about, vision that isn't what it was. Show that person a dropdown of clinical treatment names and you've asked them to self-diagnose before you've said hello.
Most won't guess. They leave and get real answers somewhere else.
So where do they actually go?
The problem doesn't go away. Those patients still get treated somewhere. They call a clinic that picks up the phone, because a phone call lets them describe the problem and have a human translate it into an appointment. The clinic that answers becomes the clinic that books.
But calling has its own problem. Patients today have no patience for phone menus and hold times. You lose people there too. Sorry to be blunt.
What the solution looks like
The right solution isn't a shorter form. It's changing the first question from "What do you want to book?" to "What's going on?" and letting the system do the translating:
- Lead with the problem, not the catalogue. Let patients write "my gums bleed when I brush" and route them from there.
- Answer questions mid-flow. Price, recovery time, what to bring. Hesitation is where bookings die.
- Never dead-end. An unsure patient should always have a next step that isn't "call us during office hours."
This is exactly what Bokit does on your website, in your brand: a conversation that listens first, recommends the right visit, and books it. It brings in the patients who could never have picked from your long list of treatments.
Our mission is simple: make booking easier for your patients, and help you convert more of them. Try the demo or get in touch.
